Electronic Voting

Today is primary day in Arkansas for the coming elections in November. In the county where I live we are using one electronic voting machine (the iVotronic touch screen) in every polling place and then have paper ballots available. I used the electronic voting machine to cast my vote and found it very usable.

  • You always know who you are voting for.
  • It is easy to move from one election to the next.
  • It confirms who you voted for.
  • It confirms if you didn’t cast a ballot in an election.
  • It lets you see a printed confirmation of who you voted for while it records your electronic vote.

I am interested in how it will display the text of any constitutional amendments the general election in November and how readable the text will be on the screen.
