Switched to Firefox

The last straw. I can’t put up with Internet Explorer any more. Way, way too many websites weren’t opening correctly in the latest version of IE (one of my friends suggested it was the java change in windows mandated by the courts). So, I switched to Firefox.

This wasn’t the first time I tried to switch. I tried back when Firefox was in it’s 0.8 release, but it just didn’t stick, but this time it is. I’ve used it for five days straight and I have started customizing the settings and found a special pdf reader that opens very fast. It’s just a plain pdf reader, but that was my main problem with Firefox last time. Acrobat just flat won’t open in Firefox. It always opened very slow in IE.

My favorite feature of FireFox is tabbed browsing. You can also find tabbed browsing in Safari (mac only) and in Opera. I’m sure it won’t be long before IE comes out with tabbed browsing, too.

It’s good to hear we’ve converted you from the dark side. If you’re looking for ultra-quick PDF handling, you might try out Acrobat 7.0. It is light-years faster than 6.0 and works flawlessly with Firefox (for me at least).

Oh, and don’t be so sure about tabbed browsing in IE. My guess is you won’t see that until Longhorn ships.
