Keynote systems released a study this week measuring customer attitudes towards major search engines looing for brand impact, customer satisfaction, loyalty and future usage. One surprise from this study is that Yahoo and MSN are quickly closing the gap on Google.
Interestingly, the study noted that an emerging battleground for customer loyalty is local search– searching for websites with information specific to a geographic region. This is an area where local media should have jumped out ahead, but now they are going to be beat out in their own backyards by the big boys.
