The AP ran an interesting article on their national wire about a TV emitting the international distress signal for planes and boats.
When I was in Civil Air Patrol we used to go out on Search and Rescue missions for ELT (emergency locater transmitters) that were going off. Most of the time we found them around airports in planes that had a rough landing.
